100325 BEAST: "We fulfilled our dream of getting first place. Our next goal is..."

It's only been 5 months since their debut sporting the statement "Beast-dol" (Beastly Idol), but BEAST, a group that has been progressing at incredible speed, finally made it to the top.

Members of BEAST were confronted by happiness on the 25th of March by placing first place for the first time since their debut on the music program "MCountdown." The song "Shock" with the passionate performance was the perfect outfit for this group which matches well with the "beastly" image.

Member Jang Hyunseung stated, "I really liked this song, " and added, "Until now we were showing sides that didn't really match with our group name, BEAST, but this time, the song, hairstyle, and even the outfits are all "BEASTLY.”

Yong Junhyung, who took off his sunglasses for this performance stated, "When I wear sunglasses while dancing, they would come down and cover up my nose. Before, it was hard because of the breathing problems, but now I'm so happy that I got to take them off." He also explained, "For this album 'SHOCK OF THE NEW ERA,' we prepared it in a short time, but we worked just as hard. We focused on singing a song with a lively melody instead of a song with a popular hook section."

Yong Junhyung also said, "Even though we dance on a daily basis, practicing the choreography for this song caused all our muscles to clump together and that caused us problems. I also had a hard time with my thigh muscles being messed up. We spent difficult times, and we are thankful for (fans) giving us so much love."

Member Son Dongwoon told us about the many times a blackout occurred during the recording and he stated, "I knew that the album was going to do well."

The end of the 5 months BEAST worked for was shining. Member Lee Kikwang was able to change into an actor in the popular sitcom "High Kick Through the Roof" and leader Yoon Doojoon showed off much talent through various variety programs. Jang Hyunseung said, "The 5 months passed by really fast. It feels like we debuted yesterday, but it's already been 5 months. We really ran without stopping." 

Yang Yoseob added a comment as well. He said, "With the release of this album, we were really nervous because a lot of people were watching us. But, I'm really proud because I think they are recognizing all the effort we put in until now. All of our members worked really hard."

Yong Junhyung added on, laughing, "I don't think it will be fun if we accomplish everything all at once. Since we are climbing up the steps one by one, each day is really fun."

Fortunately, they were able to receive good scores, but for the members who are really young, it isn't guaranteed that they won't have more hard times. In the music industry, there are about 20 idol group teams fighting each other. We asked the members how they feel about the hard times they faced until now.

The members replied, "We lost a lot of weight because it was tough," and "It wasn't a competition with other groups, but a fight with ourselves. Since we believed that we will get recognized if we work hard, we didn't look at the other groups."

BEAST will now be focusing on their overseas activities as well. They are planning to meet a lot of fans around Asia since they had already started promoting in Taiwan. CUBE Entertainment will also be working with Universal Music, and, through this way, they will be debuting overseas.

Yong Junhyung said, "Many people took interest in us even though we visited Taiwan before the album went on sale." He also stated with confidence, "We will work hard with overseas activities as well."

Other than that, the members have so many things they want to do. Lee Kikwang, who had recently joined the program "Hot Brothers" as the main MC stated with confidence, "BEAST will conquer the entertainment industry!" Yong Junhyung said, "Right now, Lee Kikwang and Yoon Doojoon are active in variety programs, but all six of us are talented and are really funny," causing anticipation.

Yang Yoseob quietly stated that he has a dream of being a radio DJ and revealed, "It's a possible dream if I progress more. I will work harder."

The 4D Son Dongwoon said that he wants to be in reality programs like "We Got Married." He said that if he does get to be in "We Got Married," he wants to experience the fake marriage life with an older woman. Also, he said experiencing the farm life like in "Invincible Youth" seems fun too. Other than that, he revealed many more dreams like trying acting.

The ambitious group BEAST fulfilled the dream of winning first place on a music program first. Now it's time for them to run towards another goal.

BEAST members stated, "We are still rookies now. We want to make better albums and make more hit songs. We also want to have a personal concert. We are confident that we will be active more than what have done in the past. So, watch out for us."
